Hikmet Sugoer, the founder of Berlin retailer Solebox, drew inspiration from a species of Southeast Asian blue bee for this 2016 ‘Blue Carpenter Bee’ collaboration with Japanese brand ASICS. The shoe’s premium black nubuck base sports a bright blue felt-like textile on the split tongue, quarter panel and collar. Solebox branding emerges on the heel and lateral ankle, and bee graphics on the footbed and translucent outsole insert give a final nod to the collaboration.
