Nike introduced its now-iconic Moon Shoes more than 50 years ago for the 1972 Olympic Trials Marathon. The Nike Moon Racer Black Racer Blue borrows elements from those shoes while also offering an updated take, complete with advanced technological features. These shoes have a black and blue upper made of leather and suede, with an almond toe in the front. They also feature black Nike Swooshes on each side, surrounded by decorative stitching. Additionally, they have lightweight black speckled midsoles with a futuristic design and rubber outsoles for excellent traction. The most appealing aspect is its unique backstory and twist on the original Moon Shoes. The Nike Moon Racer Black Racer Blue was released on November 1, 2018, initially retailing for $150. Inspired by the classic 1972 Nike Moon shoe, the Moon Racer QS ‘Racer Blue’ features an all-black finish on a nylon and suede upper atop a lightweight Nike React foam midsole, coated in a blend of royal blue and black with speckled detailing, including a black leather Swoosh, Nike-branded heel tab, and lunar print on the custom sockliner.
