Another one of the first Nike Dunk colorways from the 1985 'Be True To Your School' returned in 2020, this time in the form of the Nike Dunk High Iowa (2020). The Varsity Maize colorway pays homage to the University of Iowa, one of the first universities to partner with Nike. Also known as the 'Golden Rod', the Nike Dunk High Iowa has inspired a few renowned Dunks, notably the 2005 Nike SB Dunk High Golden Rod and the Wu-Tang Dunk High. The Nike Dunk High Iowa (2020) arrives in its original form, featuring a black and yellow leather upper with traditional Dunk color blocking. A woven black and yellow Nike Swoosh tongue tag, white midsole, and Varsity Maize outsole finalize this latest Dunk re-issue. The Nike Dunk High Iowa (2020) released in December of 2020 and retailed for $120. The 2020 reissue of the Nike Dunk High SP ‘Iowa’ brings back one of the original colorways from the ‘Be True to Your School’ series from 1985. This pair serves as a reminder that the Hawkeyes wore the colors first, pairing a black base with contrasting overlays in Varsity Maize. The sneaker’s all-leather upper is equipped with a lightly padded nylon tongue, accented with a woven Nike tag.
