Unveiled by the Kith founder Ronnie Fieg in June 2022, the New Balance 990v2 Kith Cyclades joined the Fieg and New Balance collaboration collection. Sharing the same inspiration from Ronnie Fieg’s photo on the Greek Island of Mykonos, the New Balance 990v2 Kith Cyclades features a tri-colored upper. The toe is an orange hue colored to mimic the umbrellas on the island. The beige color on the mid-section represents the sandy Greek Island beaches. The heel’s light blue represents the color of the Aegean Sea. The sneaker’s tri-colored upper is equipped in premium pigskin suede with a white midsole. During its debut in June 2022, New Balance 990v2 Kith Cyclades retailed at $225. The Kith x New Balance 990v2 Made in USA ‘Cyclades’ is part of a four-piece collection celebrating anniversaries: the 10-year milestone of the New York brand and 40 years of New Balance’s iconic 990 model. Inspired by Ronnie Fieg’s New Balance 997.5 ‘Cyclades,’ this pair features a color-blocked suede upper that combines an orange toe with an off-white saddle, a bright blue heel overlay, and a perforated collar in light grey. Embroidered ‘990’ branding adorns the tongue, while the back heel displays an anniversary KXTH logo. The multicolor design is offset by a solid white ABZORB midsole.
