Despite the ever-changing scene of sneaker culture, the Air Force 1 is one of the few shoes that has withstood the test of time. After Bruce Kilgore designed the shoe in the 1980s, the silhouette has maintained its structure and classic look, while exploring new colorways and materials. In 2021, Nike brought back one of their earlier retros, the 2001 Silver Snake. The Nike Air Force 1 Silver Snake returns in its original style, with a combination of black tumbled leather and reflective overlays that compose the majority of the upper, tongue, and heel. The Swoosh features faux snakeskin material, adding a pop of luxury to the traditional basketball sneaker, with a mini-Swoosh closer to the toe and blue embroidered "Nike Air" on the heel tab completing this retro classic. The Nike Air Force 1 Silver Snake launched in February of 2021 for $130. The 2021 reissue of the Nike Air Force 1 ‘3M Snake’ revives one of three CO.JP Air Force 1 ‘B’ styles from 2001, showcasing a black leather upper with reflective matte silver overlays and a faux snakeskin Swoosh, complemented by tonal Nike branding on the heel tab and a classic woven tongue tag. This sneaker rests atop an Air-infused midsole, supported by a pivot-point rubber outsole.
