Converse and the Boston Celtics have joined forces to pay tribute to Chuck Cooper, the first African American player to be drafted into the NBA. The Chuck 70 High 'Celtics' features a green satin upper, reminiscent of the Boston Celtics, with Off-White rubber midsoles. The lateral forefoot of the midsole features a Hardwood Classics NBA logo, and the license plate on the back of the sneaker has been swapped out to read Chuck Cooper instead of Chuck Taylor. Drawn from Converse’s ‘Breaking Down Barriers’ collection, this sneaker celebrates the legacy of Chuck Cooper, the first African-American athlete to be drafted by an NBA team.
