The Jordan 12 Retro Obsidian is a reboot of a silhouette and colorway that premiered in 1997. The Obsidian version features an upper of Obsidian Blue textured leather, stitched in a pattern meant to evoke the Rising Sun Japanese flag. An overlay of textured white leather graces the lateral side of the shoe. The white laces cross over an Obsidian Blue tongue with a blue Jumpman logo and 'Two 3' branding. Other features include Metallic Silver lace loops, a blue heel tab with a Jumpman logo, 'JORDAN' branding, '23' on the heel, and 'JUMPMAN' debossed on the white leather overlay. The white midsole features Air cushioning, and the white rubber outsole has Obsidian Blue pods with herringbone traction and a French Blue hit with '23.' A notable detail is the French Blue Jumpman logo on the toe of the outsole that curls up, making part of it visible on the upper of the shoe. The Jordan 12 Retro Obsidian was released on June 23rd, 2012, for a retail price of $160.
