Released in 2016, the Air Jordan 7 Retro ‘Doernbecher’ represents the annual collaboration between Nike designers and patients at Oregon’s Doernbecher children’s hospital. The shoe was designed by then-10-year-old Damian Phillips, a Hemophilia A patient, who loves music—hence the guitar pick-shaped elements. Phillips' love for the Chicago Bulls basketball team is represented by the shoe's black and red colorway. Phillips’ two loves come together on a unique illustrated graphic found underneath the translucent outsole.
